Ugh. @bayyaker54 was right. I should’ve just stayed out tonight instead of rushing home for the game. Anyway, quick outing before that exhausting and dreadful game. Light S wind, middle of outgoing, great surf conditions. But the first thing I noticed when I got to the water’s edge was the smell. I can’t explain it but it was off. Anyway, got there for the dusk bit that never happened. Had 1 small tap that felt like a small fluke. The end. Hopefully I can get up for the AM bite.

P.S. I’ve been forgetting to mention since last week that there has been a bunch of salps on the stretches I’ve been hitting. Haven’t seen that all year until now.

Well Im cheating tomorrow and taking the boat out with my dad for the first outing of the fall. Gonna be using some new stuff for the first time, Lexa TW 300 and a 844c Pro-Blue. 3 weeks in a row of striper fishing though, Im from PA so thats a big deal for me :). Then Ill be hitting the surf more solo of course.

Your going to like that 844c.

It's a great rod, I love mine.

Mid afternoon yak report yesterday...all the peanuts that were present moved elsewhere. Grinded out 2 of 4 hits on 4oz 6in mojos in white. Nice 20lb class fish that..dont count..whatever!

Morning report..outfront moco

3 for 5 with 2 unders and a nice over that hit the sand and caught a wave back home before i could get a pic.

Walked a stretch in central OC outfront from 30 min prior to first light to 8:30 or so. Given the afternoon southerlies the past few days, water quality seemed decent. Birds were not working and it seemed the tide cycled quickly as there were few pockets of water to actually fish. Skunked it along with the few other participants I saw out there.

MOCO

Drew the skunk card this morning on the same stretch as yesterday... beautiful morning but all was quiet, no signs of life observed.  Saw a number of players on the sand in this run and did not see anyone connect.

Until the next round...

Same.  Just called it. I hooked up when I switched to a tin on the first cast shortly after it hit the water.  Cranked a little, felt that nice tug, went to move the rod from armpit to crotch, went limp.  A very risqué moment.

Hey guys, new to the site. Yesterday evening and morning report from the Northern MoCo beaches. 2 overs and 30.75" slot yesterday just before sunset. This morning at about 6/6:20 I got another slot and an over. All on red/white teaser ties. When unhooking the over this morning I snapped my teaser hook and unfortunately had to run to the shop to buy new ones, got back out about 20 minutes later and the water had gotten too skinny and the bite turned off. The teaser was hot so make sure you have them if you're fishing jigs.

Yeah my dad has 2 843s pro blues that are excellent but we didn’t have any rods that were good for bigger plugs. I happened to find a killer deal for the 844c and paid 100 bucks for it and picked up the lexa a little afterwards from a show.

THIS DOESNT COUNT: Yesterday AM. Saw bass rolling on surface. Never saw what it was, looked really small (smaller than peanuts). Wouldn't touch even small surface. Finally got into them on small white glide baits. That did the trick. Hard twitch and wait for 3 seconds for next twitch. Drove em nuts. Fun morning with my fater. MOCO.
