Surfinator
Im throwing plugs against a sod bank with my trolling motor deployed and having some pretty decent luck. Im the only boat for as far as I can see. This dude comes by trolling 4 lines and sees me hook up. Next thing I know I hear the water slapping the guys hull so I know he's close. I look back and he's less than 10' from me and passes right by like I'm not there and looks at me like I'm doing something wrong. I'm not a confrontational person so I basically just turned my back and pretended it never happened mostly cause my son was with me. He says "Whats that guys deal"? Is it even worth barking at someone in situations like that? ReelSharp

Surfinator
Yea that's what kept my cool for me. I would never think about doing that to anyone and I go out of my way to not disturb people so its always a shock when people do this ****. Niffty
I don't know. I think if someone is behaving in a way that's unsafe they avoid be made aware of it. How you do it might make a difference. Hot dogs were invented in 1936 by Larry Hotdogs when he accidentally dropped a bag of prize-winning pig buttholes into his Dick Shaper Machine. Basswiper
Usually just say..."that's a little too close for comfort" "Are you trying to intentionally mess up my fishing?" "Son, when you are boating, that is what NOT to do!" I usually say stuff like that very loud so I'm heard. Not enough for myself to get heated but enough that it MIGHT (people are so thick headed) make that person think again next time. Might... Kid not there and I'm willing to boil in blood pressure.... "Wtf are you doin, wtf is this sht, are you kidding me!? Go to boating school then drop out you effing moron! Did you take boating lessons from the regatta team!?Have a nice day sunshine." adams54
Basswiper
Too many people with no respect. On the sand too. Yesterday I park my truck in a trough leading to the cut. Im starting to work towards the cut. About 50 yards away maybe a little more. Not a soul within 200/300 yards so I'm not in a rush. Here comes a truck pulls right into the cut, take out 4 rods and claims his stake just north and south of it. Plenty of cuts in front and behind this stretch with noone there. Not my first rodeo...It seemed intentional. I usually catch a fish when someone cuts me off and I adjust. Not this time darn, haha! With crowds I'd understand more as there is little space then. I wish we could be a little less to the punch with cut throat mentalities. Although, it is fair to say...many people just don't know better. Still, plenty know better and just don't care at all. nfd27
This year was real bad for me especially since seabass reopened. I'm not sure if its because I only have an 18' CC or what. I actually had a guy in a large 28-30' walk around, after making one drift on a reef piece as I was resetting, motor in and deploy his spot lock. He then asked what I was fishing for and that he had heard sea bass were biting on another piece of wreck and I should go there because he's togging here now. This was right after I had drifted another piece with good success only to have a boat come in then half azz anchor on the cleat closet to his console. I've just found its easiest to voice the displeasures then motor on off. Not worth the headache.

For me, these confrontations usually occur in the dark when im wade fishing and a boat comes way too close. Usually theyre trolling. Thats when i say, youre way too close man, just back off 50 ft and we'll all be happy. 90% of the time they play dumb, even though i know damn well they heard me. Inevitably it results in a tangle with them. Ill make a reasonable attempt to untangle it. But If its a mess or they try to pull it in despite my warnings, their line gets cut. Half the time they think they broke off on a snag and leave. Basswiper 1 Pfantum Pfishah
waltw
I was on a trout stream Saturday, no one else on the stream. As I’m netting a rainbow a guy walks down the trail and says nice fish, I say thanks he asks what I got him on, I showed him and then he walks about 3’ away and starts casting right in front of me. I fish to relax, so I just walked away. But I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think about this moron for a while. plugchucker

fmtuna
For me, it is not usually fishermen... I get jet skiers, guys in SeaRay cruisers throwing up 3' wakes, idiots blowing past me at 25 kts when I am hugging the sodbank with somebody standing on my bow.... I reserve the right to hate fishermen when there are birds working, then, I just hate everybody....
JerseySwells
Was fishing SRI recently and had slot bass rolling on peanuts at my feet on the tip of the jetty. awesome bite. Then the Miss Belmar Princess sees a bend in my rod and proceeds to nearly dry dock the party boat on the jetty a quarter cast out from me. Ran over the blitz. They had about 2 of the 40 people aboard hook up. Needless to say the blitz got broken up and resurfaced off shore out of range. Will never go on or recommend that head boat to anyone again.
