Snaps
How the eff are they gonna know if they achieve the reduction target ???? count all the fish ??? or when you wade out to the bar, your walking on them ??? Sorry , their science is flawed, their options are smoke and mirrors and the Logic is pretzel logic. Didn't all this BS start in Mass ??? There is such a thing as natural predators, ever see how many fish seals eat??? I watched Harbor seals devour a 5lb tog carcass, like it was a effing ritz cracker.. Migration patterns change some No ??? maybe water temp, current , food source ??? How many punds did those bunker boats pull out ???? I get what John is saying how many effing pictures do you need ??? a lot of these people think it is an endless resource, they will just move on to something else. Seen one kid , after he takes the effin picture asking if he can borrow my pliers to unbutton a fish, I had to yell at him, due YOU NEED TO BE PREPARED !!! Oh I wasnt expecting that. Artie Fishil
I really tried not to get involved in this discussion, but here I am. I have watched many fishermen snag and drop by using a metal lure, you can tell by the way they stop reeling and open the bail. When I said something to these guys I get answers like I release all my fish, even the ones that get hooked in the gills? I have had guys tell me that they hooked up so fast that they could not reel in the bunker and change to a circle hook, who knows? By the way, that regulation must have been written by boat fishermen for boat fishermen, think about it. I have been told by an angler that the regulations allow for a fish between 28 and 39 inches, which told me how big the fish he was being photographed with was. When I told him that it was 31 inches not 39 inches, the story changed to I found it on the beach, must have come of some boat, I promised grandma that I would bring her a fish home. I told him that the warden would most likely believe that story. I walked away, looked back and saw him release the now dead fish. Perhaps New Jersey should discontinue the bonus tag program to make up for any potential loss of days fishing for bass, what a dumb idea, give up a revenue source in New Jersey. Something needs to be done, catch and release only would be a big help, at least most of the bass could swim away, except for the ones that get hooked in the gills, that bright red blood and no emergency room for fish usually means that they won't make it. Catch and release, at least for a limited duration, might be helpful to improve the numbers and it might make the wardens job easier, no possession. End of rant. End of rant. 2 weeks ago I had 3 potheads walk past me just smoking and bs'ing, no fishing until they saw me catch my 2nd fish right where they were just fishing. They catch a fish, and no bs after a 5-10 minute photo shoot and multiple measurements (as if the fish was going to grow) they released it. I just shook my head in disbelief. Hopefully the fish made it. Michael_s_fishing
