having trouble finding pictures but heres links to some pictures i posted in the past. These are from about 5 years ago. i hope to find newer pictures of fancier stuff but so far , no luck. i suspect they are all together somehwre and when i find one i will find them all. Its very alarming because i once had a web site that showed about 40 pictures of my thread art but that has long since disappeared but the original photos posted there should be around somewhere.

here is another link with a couple of rods. these are an Allstar 1267 and the pink one (with the fishnet stocking quad diamonds) was built for a lady on I believe a batson or sabre 1088?

had a chnace to look all the pictures over finally. There is some awesome stuff here.

My own personal style leans towards the gold and black closed wrap SMT shows. So classy. Like putting a tuxedo on the rod! smile.gif

Always risky to name names in the fear of leaving someone out but the stuff by Billy , Rapt Tite , Rodwinder and McG is as agood as any I have seen.

I have never done a theme rod with the Bernie style neoprene inlays etc but doing the whole rod to a theme is cool and requires lots of different skills , not just the thread work.

I did the exact pattern Billy has shown here with the red and gold spider/crest many times. One time I did it in Purple (vivid madeira purple metallic) and green which sounds weird but it came out nice. i have also changed the number of inside to outside threads to make the spider part turn into stars by using a constant number of black threads per color thread instead of the increasing number used to form the longer spider legs.

Beautiful work everyone.

I wish I had more time to work on rods like this, I have a lot of ideas.

And finally, from the archives comes the original Predator Wrap. I did this in MArch of 2002, it was the first wrap I did in my new house/shop. And probably the one which really opened people's eyes. At this point I had been building for 2 years and this was probably the 10-15th wrap I had ever done.

Very nice stuff. Every time I see things like that I get inspired. But it is tough finding the time, specailly when you are in the learning stage and have 6 yr old that wants to kick your butt at Madden football everytime you turn around. I think I am going to cut a 2 foot section of an old blank so I can practice in the house instead of hiding in the garage. At least I can move up the learn curve a bit. Thanks for posting those pics they help!
