While tragic, golf courses are much rarer than restaurants...and restaurants are much easier to rebuild :)

That's what I'm picturing...and wondering who put plastic explosives in all the gopher holes? :squid:

My buddy that told me said the new owner wants to turn it back into a blueberry farm. I guess thats what it was many years ago. The course itself is probably the worst I've ever played on, but I had fun and the food was good.

When covid hit and the tourney started back up when things opened up, we were only allowed to play 8 holes, for some crazy reason that escapes me now. We also couldn't eat in the place so the meals were packaged to go. I started calling it The 8 and Skate tourney. Lol

You know it must be a penguin bound down if you hear that terrible screaming and there ain't no other birds around.

Then no great loss :) 8 and Skate tourney

Show someone how to catch striped bass and they'll be ready to fish anywhere.
Show someone where to go striped bass fishing and you'll have a desperate report chaser with loose lips.

Shame, really. The course could have been nice. It was nestled in the pine barrens. Just needed some tlc.

Got a great deal Sunday. Our course was closed for the annual Ryder Cup style tournament against another area club (I usually play but have sucked this year and didn't qualify). Head pro got us comped at a really nice VT course. Just had to pay $25 for carts. Did $20 a head for skins. I won 1/3 of the skin money and barely broke even at the bar buying a round.

I'll have mine on the rocks.

I hope the appropriate folks are getting ready for the Newman...it's just 11 days away! This year is gonna be the first year with no Kneel or no Cleatis....and rather than gather ringers I play with, I'm bringing my Saturday 'Fireball' crew - myself, my brother Brett, my friend Matt and Brett's father in law, Steve. We are, technically, the reigning B Flight Westlake scramble champs...but that's against a bunch of old folks

BUMP,

only because it was so nice to play golf yesterday in New England, bright sunshine, some folliage, windless day, lush conditions and in our case are greens were rolling 13

Today wasn't so bad either. A little cold and breezy but the rain held off.

I'll have mine on the rocks.

How'd you do? We is approaching the best golf weather of the year :beers:  I played at Westlake yesterday...we dodged raindrops...but overall it was a nice round, shot at 39-40 with a double on the front and a triple on the back. Got up and down 8/11...was chipping and putting well. Still can't actually swing a golf club though...if I ever figure that part out I'll probably forget how to chip :freak:

For the first time in a long time I played irons only, bought a set of new used clubs and wanted to try them out

I’m all ready but need a couple players to fill out my own group, lol. @NIB @ferret @cleatis

Sunday 10/19 noon at Pebble Creek, Colts Neck.

Cleatis, this would be a great opportunity to win the come back player of the year award. Think about it.

If you use eclairs in your example, he will get it right away. MikeMc

Mansion Ridge in NY

Ping Blueprint S, was thinking that since they are non offset, non toe weighted clubs, might straighten out my draw, that was a fail, the few times I hit em well, they were very straight, but the sweet spot is very small and mishits are a disaster, got them through 2nd swing golf, 30 days return policy on used clubs, already sent them back
