Explain what you mean here... seriously

Just a thought from an high handicapper- Other than professional golf the games rules even out recreational golfers various abilities through handicapping.    I can’t think of another sport that does that.  It implies, at least in my mind, that the sport has greater emphasis on fairness than other sports.  So not penalizing an injury seems appropriate.

Should be a forfeit. Thats a ridiculous rule.

Just goes to show that Philly gets a bad rap and the NY fans of all stripes are the worst of the bunch. :dismay:

Nah, NY fans may be the rudest and boldest bunch, but Philly fans are low class, obnoxious and angry. Its the angry part thats disturbing. NY fans just enjoy being mouthy, Philly fans like to throw beer bottles at kids and women for wearing an opponents jersey. Thats called low class but most Philly fans can't even recognize how foolish they look to the rest of the country. Granted, the crowd at Bethpage won't be on anyones favorite list, just a bunch of yah-oos trying to show how great it is to be them. Bunch of losers.

Then again, Bradley kind of incited the crowd using the previous Ryder Cup match held in Rome where the Americans were treated like dirt. Can blame the Italians, its their country and they are a bunch of hot heads to begin with, in 2 years it will be in Ireland, hopefully, we hear a few Irish chant/cheers between pints and that will be enough.

Congrats to Europe on their earned victory, I didn't think going in they had a chance, they proved they were worthy. I think as a group they are mentally tougher and are more familiar with match play, its preferred play as they learn their trade growing up. Scheffler may be the best golfer in the world but he is as good a partner as JLo.

where oh where is the deep fescue, where is the deep nasty rough.....They have tamed and otherwise brutal course. The hosting Captain of the RC, Keagan Bradley makes those decisions well in advance.

The course was unrecognizable from when I played it.

Rewarding it seems very inappropriate.

Both teams get a half so it’s really scratching the match.  Only applies in the singles.  Doesn’t seem ever abused. Not sure if it’s appropriate or not but it’s been agreed for decades so I’m ok with it.

So, my guy who can play doesn't get a chance to win. He's being punished, imo. I think a good compromise would be Tim's idea of a half point to the abled body player. Not that they care what we think. lol

Would’ve been English’s only win or tie lol.  No idea what they do if 2 players were injured, is that a forfeit?

A course I played with some friends for the Nine & Dine, a 9 hole scramble and a buffet dinner after the round, blew up last night. Course was recently sold.

Well the restaurant blew up, Tim. Lol

While tragic, golf courses are much rarer than restaurants...and restaurants are much easier to rebuild :)

And, if you remember the end of caddy shack.....

That's what I'm picturing...and wondering who put plastic explosives in all the gopher holes? :squid:

Show someone how to catch striped bass and they'll be ready to fish anywhere.
Show someone where to go striped bass fishing and you'll have a desperate report chaser with loose lips.

Don't worry about these wires . . . Dr's orders.

I'll have mine on the rocks.
