Ba Ba Buoy
The only problem I had with a Tattoo is when I inked Carmen Electra's name on my chest, and then she broke up with me...cheap hussy! The plugs from Tattoo, although don't look as good as Carmen they do have a wiggle that attracts just as much attention. Carnage
What's with all the product bashing lately? Buy a lathe and turn your own...Then determine what's junk. Why are you offended... If you repeadidly purchased a product from a manufacture, and it didnt work, you would see if its the product or your luck also.. I was standing there when his Tattoo lures were malfunctioning, he also stated that he has had other famous builders plugs that needed a few minor tweeks, there is nothing wrong with trend analysis i have a lathe, i turn my own and mine are junk, this is why you dont see them on the market for the public to use and critique.. Hairyjig
If you don't like the way they swim try getting into making some yourself. you'll probably fish them regardless of how they swim cus there yours. That sea pup that only turns left can be a good thing IMO, ever see an injured fish flap around in a circle Fish Hard or GO HOME...

Rick7
What Rock said! The density/weight of the wood, can be a determining factor on plug action .It is very hard to tell if a blank has a dense spot.I have weighed two same size small swimmers and seen weight differences of 3/4 oz on exactly the same plug. Try comparing two ...before buying one, adds some skill to the buying process(ps don't try this at the gary2 line in asbury). That said the maker will probally make good,if a plug dosen't swim. Calling someones product JUNK on a public fourm.... just confirms your online name
bart
I'm not really a fan of Tattoo's plugs either. I don't like swimmers that roll, i want that traditional snake-like movement. just my personal preference. i wish his new danny would come in a 3 oz size. same with the walking stick, i'd like to see a bigger version. i've had mixed results with the darter, and the diving swimmer never really lived up to the hype IMO. but his customer service is great, i'll give him that.. I think it just boils down to personal preference for me.
surfaceswimmer
Mikes plugs are awsome. I think his danny's and round nose swimmers are some of the best swimmers out their. I also had some of the best nights of the year on his jointed eel. I have yet to get a plug that hasn't swam well. I have had a prob with the rigging, but talked to Mike and it was taken care of right away. Mike is a great guy and stands behind his plugs. Luds48
I have ALOT of Tattoo plugs and only have had a problem with 2 of them. I sent them back with a letter and in a few days I received a 2 replacements back as well as 2 additional plugs for my trouble. Send them back and give them a chance to win you back. The Tattoo crew are good people and want you to be happy with the plugs you bought from them. Those darters can truly be killers!
choggieman
With all the positive responses about Tattoo plugs working well, maybe those who do not like them do not know how to fish said plugs. Is it possible that the nay-sayers just do not know what they are doing with a Tattoo?

To title a thread like this is unnecessary; there's too many people on this website to sloppily link the words "Tattoo" and "junk". Trend analysis doesn't have to include the posting of findings essentially in the form of a smear. As said several times, contacting the builder directly would have been a better way to go. So I have the best idea, how about, instead of using a discussion board with peers, lets all not post at all, ever, and speak directly with the manufacture in all cases.. If the product is indeed not "Junk", the same public will see that this is a fluke situation and does not affect the majority as we clearly see here. Thats the point and beauty of a public discussion board. The truth always comes out.. The threads title had a ? not a !
RI Popper
Carnage your going to the other extreme. I am a manufacturer and I know that befor posing such in a board I'd rather be given the opportunity to rectify a situation. Luckily it hasn't happened to me but if it were to I'd have a problem with a title like "*&%^$ Lures junk?" All said and done, did you call or email Mike?
