Tattoo lure problem?

My experience with Tattoo plugs has not been good! I have a few. One 2oz Darter that rolls out. A 2oz sea pup that only likes to go left and a small swimmer that just doesn't swim. I know that wood plugs aren't always consistent but 3 of my 4 tattoo are just plain worthless.

Number four has not been used yet.

I expect to get an occasional plug that is not perfect considering the nature of wood but this is ridiculous. Most builders plugs work right out of the package or need only a minor tweak to the line tie or lip to get them working.

Have you guy's had good luck with tattoo?

I have over 30 Tattoo plugs and have had no issues. Mike is a super nice and stand up guy, give him a call and explain your problem with the plugs.

I would oly tune anyones plugs with the wire NEVER the lip. If you need to adjust the lip there is a problem.

If anyone is having a problem with a makers product, perhaps it would be good to contact the maker and see if the problem can be resolved before posting here. Just seems like the fair thing to do. Most makers will be more than glad to make it right. They all suffer when a negative post is placed on an active website like this one and they deserve the chance to address the problem before they get the negative press... seems to me.

That being said, although Tattoos are not my first choice (Afterhours... plug(s)), I have not had any issues with them when I have used them.

Goog, did you try to tune them? Sometimes you cant forsee differences in wood density when you build plugs. Sometimes thinge happen during shipping too. Line ties get bent, lips can bend, line ties can also twist. Sometimes wood just has a light spot or a heavy spot that we cant see, heavy spots cause dead action, light spots cause the plug not to hold or dig well. i have never had the pleasure of meeting Mike but I hear he is a real good guy and a stand up guy, and I hear tons of good things about his plugs, try tuning the plugs first, if you dont get the desired results try to contact him, I'm sure he could help you out.
