Left the Marina at 530am water was 68 degrees and wind was out of the West in the am. Got to fish with Bill from Bling Cycles drool.gif today cool guy, used to be West Coast choppers Main Man, now set up shop in Asbury park.

bucktail with teasers using spearing and shark belly.

Had 12 keeper Fluke 19" to 9 1/2 lbs with one going 6lb and another 7 1/2lbs...all quality fish but we paid the price fishing 11 hours and being bitten buy the black flies from hell.

Went thru a can of RAID and only killed a few hundred flies.

alomost forgot a couple nice keeper Sea bass also

Fished 55 to 70 ft of water.

went out on the gambler this morning with my 9 y.o. bro. We had wind against tide, but overall not a bad day(by my standards). we had 8 fish with 4 being keepers between the two of us. The largest, 5 lbs, was taken on a 3oz spro tipped with gulp. The boat overall did pretty well, most people had a keeper or two, with the pool fish going at 6.5 lbs. There were also a couple blues around 7lbs picked up about 10 min before we left....good thing they didn't hit my spro, as it was tied to a 15 lb mono leader cwm31.gif

Btw, very nice boat, fast and clean...and they have air conditioning cwm12.gif

tied to a 15 lb mono leader

That's too light for a FLuke leader, it gets mangled too easily.

my god it was hot the last 2 days redface.gif

Monday fishing was OK on the rocks from Deal - Long Branch, fished bucktails w/ long strips and soft bait teasers and had 9 keepers to 5#, plus a few nice seabass

Tuesday much slower, but we had a 7.6#/27" fish on a long strip/fresh spearing combo plus a bunch of nice knuckleheads fishing fishing near a few wrecks

Yesterday had 12 keepers to barely 3.5# back up north on some high spots and rocks - many more shorts today but there are some quality fish around. Water was real off colored - must be an algae bloom

Today I'm soaking up the AC biggrin.gif

Spoke with the Magic Hours captain of the Pigeon yesterday. They've been sailing extra light and actually catching fluke. A few limits have even been taken. Yesterday at about 7pm he had one guy limited out and a decent amount of fish onboard for 9 fares...said there was even a nice breeze out there.

Seems it ain't like the past "tragic hours" trips I've known wink.gif

3oz Spro with 15# leader?cwm13.gif I use that for the 3/4oz ones. Fishing around structure I use a minimum of 25#test.

Won a free charter trip for fluke on the Knot Easy for later this month icon14.gif

Almost makes up for being with out AC the past two days at homemad.gif
