You *do* realize that, since you won't be attending, I will HAVE to come to your house to deliver your Bday present and cajole you into donating one of your TimeZone plugs for the SOL Xmas Family Auction. Southcoastphil
I'm looking forward to seeing all of you tomorrow AM. I've spoken with the folks at Leo's and they will have tables set aside for us at 0730 for about a dozen seats, and there are always booths and other tables nearby for more folks. In addition to a plug for the swap, I'll have a new donation for the SOL Xmas Family Auction that I just picked up tonight (fin nor lethal 60 reel on a 10'6" Breakaway rod) to get your ideas re value prior to posting it. Angler #1
It was great to see every one this morning at the breakfast , even though some arrived a little late [good thing it was not to meet the fish ] all enjoyed the company and the usual sharing of fishing We may be seeing a few more at our next event as one father brought his young son along which was awesome. We even had the president of a local fishing club attend our gathering and hopefully we will see him posting here when he signs up. A few of us went over to fish the east end and catch a few macks to take home , Spoke with one friend and he stated that first thing this morning they went off . The water was higher then yesterday and needed to go a little west before it picked up . Saxon had the magic rig for sure. It was nice for the rest to show up and talk for awhile even though they did not fish . Phil got a few more raffle items for the Christmas Auction from the trolls. Hopefully it will help some one in need this Christmas. We will need to do this again in a few months before we do the spring casting event off 151. My thanks to Mike blue for his plug he gave me , we will need to see how it catches fish this spring. Southcoastphil
Thank you to all of the Trolls who made an effort to join us for breakfast today. It was great to see many friends and meet yet more great guys (including Todd's son, Evan, who is already passionate about fishing). I enjoyed every minute of it! Although I am no longer amazed at your unflinching acts of generosity, please don't confuse that with ANY lack of appreciation for your gestures, for I appreciate them dearly. Eddie, I'm happy to see that you're feeling better. You know that I'll be reaching out to you for tips on fishing RI come next season! Carl, Saxon and MikeBlue: Thank you for your generous donations to the Christmas Family Auction. Mike, I appreciate your post-breakfast help in the parking lot with my vintage toaster. Saxon, we must fish in Westport together next season! Wayne, Hilary, Stewie and others: Thanks for your insights re: the breakaway rod w/Fin-nor reel combo. Very helpful. Stewie, I will definitely try swimming those SS poppers to imitate squid next season. Thanks for the tip. ********* As I look back on "my life as a Troll" I recognized that, less than a year go (late Jan, 2017), I walked into Leo's with Dmac for a Trolls' breakfast having never laid eyes on any of you prior to that morning. "Who are these guys?", I wondered. Carl had shown up with ACOE tide charts for everybody, Chuck was delivering Troll gear, Scott had brought some of his killer white poppers, and I was struggling to keep up with all of your friendly banter (and names!) In the 10 or so months since then, I've had the pleasure of learning from all of you, fishing with many of you and developing some great friendships that go way beyond fishing. For all of that, I thank you, most sincerely. Please accept my heartfelt wishes to all of you and all of your loved ones for a holiday season filled with joy, appreciation, and lots of time spent with the people in your lives who matter most. R.R. Bridge Fisher
This is a question for A1 regarding the jigs you brought for the swap. You can answer here or start a new thread. It is informal here in DT forum. So that particular style head sorry for not knowing exactly its name or style. I was having a discussion about its use in the canal exclusively with a buddie, and more so adding lead to its head to give it a fatter profile with very good results. Can you comment on that modification and its use in the canal. pros and con's? That style head I'm asking. Thank you for any information you could give as we are always willing to learn.
