bluefish1928thing
Sometimes I wonder if Marylanders call striped bass rockfish because they fight like a rock. Heavy weight, sometimes lacking resistance. Â worst fighter= crappie.....they feel like reeling in a piece of paper.

Then I scaled down to realistic tackle for them. 2 lb test line with a 1/16 oz jig and mini mite on an ultralight setup for all panfish - then call them weak!  It's not fair to fish 8 lb line for a fish that at 3/4 lb is a SLAB #1 white bucktail. #2 bunker chunk. #3 bone Redfin

saltydawg
Down in the Carolinas they tie cords off to the boat cleats attached to planers with a spoon attached and troll for Spanish and king mackerel. That was always a pretty weak fight, pulling them in by hand after a 3 ton boat already dragged them for a bit. Â Â I like when they don't trip the planer and you pull them in a half hour later with their stomach folk of a gallon of water. Â Speckled trout suck at fighting. -

Speckled trout suck at fighting. lol,had that happen before too with the Spanish. Always use ultra light for specks. The larger ones fight ok. The smaller ones like pinfish.
