gatorjwade
I use long sleeves and a Buff, then use Blue Lizard for nose/cheeks and the back of my hands. (I apply with a latex glove so as not to add any sunblock scent to the bait.)
GBCapt
Like others here, I have had a number of "barnacles" scraped from my hide as a result of overexposure to sun for too many years. I have seen two of my acquaintances' die from melanoma. USE THE SUNSCREEN EVEN WITH PROTECTIVE CLOTHING!!!!! Neutrogena Ultimate Sport SPF 70 is my choice. And even if it is SPF 70, re-apply occasionally rather than risk it wearing or washing off. Wear a brimmed hat to save tour ears and never leave home without good polarized wrap around sunglasses. fisharmanCT
Definitely love this stuff. I do landscaping, and its the only stuff that stays on my face while pouring sweat. Coppertone Sport is my favorite. SPF 30 or 50.
Finnbar
Good thing you have some spares as it appears they have been discontinued Forget the sunscreens, the biggest difference for me was finding out about the Simms sun clava.I used to bake and have a nightmarish time dealing with the intense heat, especially with the very long hours i fish. When i started using the sun clava it literally blew me away, it makes you feel about 15 degrees cooler as soon as you put it on and its rated at 50 spf .Although some think it would make you hotter, that could not be farther from the truth. I have a few of them still in the package for backup, so i let a friend use it for a day and he could not believe how much cooler he was, as a matter of fact i had to keep telling him (i heard you shut up already) because he would mention how awesome it was constantly, it was very annoying.I also use sun gloves, sunglasses(a mandatory item for me) and a wide brimmed hat on top of the clava. carolinafly
I absolutely HATE sunscreen. It stinks, its greasy, it makes me sweat, it makes me hot, it makes me feel sticky. For that reason, I always wear long pants, long sleeves, a hat and sunglasses. I throw on a mask if necessary, but thats not too often. By the way - looks like the Simms Sunclava has not been discontinued - it has apparently been redesigned. http://www.**************/simmssunclava.html
longcaster
Bullfrog I sweat heavly, I am constantly wiping my face, and I can't wipe Bullfrog off. It is amazing stuff. If being stupid got us into this mess, how come being stupid can't get us out?I don't want to behave improperly, so I just won't behave at all. magwa
Stay away from this sunscreen stuff unless you already have skin cancers and just have to there are way to many chemicals in them and the human race has lasted this long without it the key is gradual exposure untill you get some tan build up you can not stay inside all winter then go out in the sun and get baked wear long sleeves a good straw hat or hat with a oversize visor and go get you some sun.. papasito
Neutrogena lotions work for me; but I found that no matter the brand I have to re-apply lotions at least twice when out on the water.
