Bristol Lou
called office today, they still only want to sell passes in person, no reason given. They save a couple bucks, like cutting back on the number of decals
Jettyhound
Doing a little quick mentally idiotic math: 5,000 resident passes at $195 = $975,000 estimate the savings at $1 / sticker = $5,000 ~.5% BRILLIANT GOVERNMENT ECONOMICS! ...off topic but, if the NJBBA and Berkeley Striper Club didn't donate the funds to have the compressor motor at A7 rebuilt after Sandy, we still might not have compressed air there. Is it any wonder they can't legislate and enforce appropriate park and sound fishing regulations? The Forestry Service division of the DEP department dosent get any of that money, it goes straight to the general treasury. I also think 5000 is low around November I often see shinny new passes numbered in the 8ooo's, probably mostly three day passes

The 3 day passes are displayed on the dash, not a decal. 8000 series may be replacement numbers
Jettyhound
I don't know if this bill passed, but page 3, line 7 sums up where we were before this bill was proposed. ftp://www.njleg.state.nj.us/20142015/A1000/737_I1.PDF "If you want to consider what 'social security' does for and to people, look at the American Indian." -Henry Ford "If I could live my life over, I'd live it over Giglio's B&T." -Bud E. feetinsand
I don't know if this bill passed, but page 3, line 7 sums up where we were before this bill was proposed. ftp://www.njleg.state.nj.us/20142015/A1000/737_I1.PDF That bill and the identical bill the year before never even made it out of committee let alone a floor vote. Liberty State Park and Island Beach State Park are the only 2 State Parks that operate in the black. Now they want to change Liberty State Park into an amusement park. All State Park Programs are going to be hurting this year for funds. The yes vote this past November for Open Space was a "killer".

Don't think the numbers were continuous.

Don't think the numbers were continuous. so for the last five years I mail mine around Dec 15th to Trenton as the truck was titled in the wife's name. last four years I'd get low number 16, 44, 58. Like I've said earlier Trenton mailed it back and said to go to the park.
fluke07
Always thought the low numbers were at Park, at least they were when they started selling at Mid-night on January 1. Since they started selling in mid-December, must have changed.

pine cone
Well of course, the lower the number the more fish you catch. That and most brand of the new trucks that are stuck with 40 psi can be found around august will have numbers like 5000 or 6000
Jettyhound
Absolutely! And a low number means you are FAR SMARTER than the average bear and superior to everyone with a number higher than yours! Like, "wicked smart" as they say in New England. Additionally, it means you happened to wander into the gate house in the dead of winter! However, ALL individuals with tents trump even 0001! They are in a league of their own! BUT! Even they can be one-upped by the folks who show up with no fishing equipment!
