castnet not all that fancy..... actually for the reach it is pretty inexpensive by todays standards. Camera has been on sale for $899. The lens is a little bit over $1000 and the teleconverter is about $150. The magnification you see there is with the sensor crop factor, lens focal length, the 1.4x the TC creates, and the 50% image crop you are seeing a effective magnification of at least 50x and could be up to 75x

So for $2050 one can get almost the reach that the highest end wildlife full frame that costs over $5k and the longest lens currently available for it which is a 5.6 800mm for $13k+. If you add a 2x teleconverter to this its effective focal length will only be 1600mm or 32x where the above effective focal length is around 1300mm or 26x with only a 1.4x TC. About $2000 vs nearly $19,000 ..... the $19K setup will shoot lower light and have better IQ BUT I like luxuries like a roof over my head and food on my table too much to get that deep into this :)

In today's photography $2k will barely buy a full frame camera body alone.......... and 70-200mm glass averages in the mid $2k range as well for decent lenses. So $2k for everything with a focal length reach of 150-600mm is pretty inexpensive comparatively........

Yeah, what he said

Luckily, I do not have to understand that to see what a beautiful photo that is.
