Joe G
.... How many visitors do you guys get on an hourly/daily/weekly/monthly/annual basis where $5 bucks will have an impact? An impact on who, Bob? BSP, the camper, or the visitor?
Joe G
It just dawned on me as a step back and think about the new BSP policy, that there is something positive to say about it. I get a handful of seasonal guest passes every year and I distribute them to friends in the event they wish to visit BSP. All drop by my hooch and say hello, stay briefly, and move on. Now in 2011 I get no passes. I wonder how many of those friends will now fork out $5 and drop by my hooch for some small **** chat? Will they fork out $5 once a week, twice a week, three times a week? I wonder how many will spend their money to visit me, considering that I've given then free access to BSP for so many years. I wonder, I wonder.

b-ware
That's true b-ware.....and, did you happen to notice the BRA is also receiving a revenue stream from something that is being sold in the country store? I say that because of the following. Did you see the line in DJ post that's titled "costs of goods sold in the PARK STORE and arena"? Let me ask you....... what is it that the BRA is selling in the country store? You've been in there more than I. Apparently it's something because Bourne is saying there is a cost associated with that good(s) being sold. If there is a cost to that item(s), there also is also a revenue associated with that item(s). What is interesting in all this is when you delve into the layers of detail on this one line item, are there these goods being sold at a profit or at a loss? There is no way of knowing this because the financials do not break out the revenues for this line item. Interesting presentation. Immaterial, but interesting. Joe, I know of nothing being sold in the store that is the property of the park. The sweatshirts and clothing with the park logo she bought and even the firewood she sells was purchased by her at wholesale. I think the income you are seeing is strickly rent payments. For clarification, I'm not looking at revenues to BRA (which the store rent would be), rather I'm looking at the cost to BRA as described below. That said...back to the country store thing. Let me say again, as I posted in post #65, the BRA financial data shown in the above posts have a line item...."cost of goods sold at the park store......". That is not "revenue" to BRA, that is a "cost" to the BRA, meaning the BRA has something they paid for at the park store that Carolyn is selling, and the BRA has accounted for as a cost in line item......"cost of goods sold at the park store...". So far so good. However, the question I have is, what does the BRA have in the park store that Carolyn is selling. I can't think of a darn thing and neither can you. That's the rub. It's quite possible there is an item or two in the store that has a cost to the BRA that Carolyn is selling but without looking at the detail financials I'm at a loss to know what it is. The store item(s), if in fact there is one, is clearly de minimus and of no material consequence, but I'm down right curious what the BRA has in the line item "cost of goods sold at the park store". sageguy
Is all this rhetoric over $5 bucks? How many visitors do you guys get on an hourly/daily/weekly/monthly/annual basis where $5 bucks will have an impact? Hey, Hey, 5 bux is like half a pack o smokes Consider it a minor inconvience, like the 8 bux I pay every day we are in Chatham for 2 weeks in august to park at a beach..........sure, we could just stay in Tesno cottage, park for free, and walk to the beach, but for something a little better, sometime you gotta fork over a sawbuck. Then again some moron got shot across the street from the cottage 2 weeks ago, so Chatham seems a better option. That fiver may just be the $$ that keeps the park open.
