MooreLyonQuick Posted November 22, 2024 Report Share Posted November 22, 2024 No - I tried it with a white Sakura "Gelly Roll" pen with .08 tip and got almost good enough results, but went with a custom decal from mudhole. Sister Charles Angelica would not be happy and I’d likely get whacked with the ruler. Of course, I've messed up with decal application a few times - I was smart enough to buy two decals knowing that I'd probably screw up the first attempt. Which I did. I certainly wasn’t expecting a warranty repair in this situation so I am pretty happy. The downside is it may take 90 days. I think I could eventually get a good tolerable result with the Sakura pen but it would take a smooth blank, and a larger surface area than a 5wt offers, maybe a 36 wt. Well, I had some time and the re-do is moving along well and I should be able to get to some fly rods tomorrow. In the mean time I will also glue up the NFC GammaBeta 11wt. The reelseat is on. I have to get the handle on the GB 9wt tomorrow, then the 11wt. Then I s/b be able to bang some rods out quick. I won’t be able to tackle that until tuesday, which means guides won’t get put on it until next weekend, so I won’t start wrapping flyrods until that is done.
