popper john
Hey wait...you fought me like a rabid pitbull about Horton. Now you agree? Excellent. We are making progress. Now...let's work on our statistics. 4 games...or in this case, 4 samples tells us nothing about predictability. Again....let's let 20 games play out....and then we'll compare. Hell, I'll do all the math and do it in an honest fashion. If I'm wrong, I'll be the first to say I'm wrong. But I'm not. Back away from the bong dood...I agreed on Horton FIVE pages back!! Savard was playing with an uncooked western omellette sloshing around in his head... He was not yet back on his game when he went down...hence: your going back 20 games is horsehockey! His last four reflect his TRUE ability moreso than playing 20 games ago! Lets try this AGAIN: COLD STONE FACTS...... not probability nor opinions!! LAST 4 @ 90% vs NOT PLAYING = GOALS.. Stop fighting boys! Savard , he just got his ticket punch to petewyville, rumor has it may have had a slight case of locker room cancer too. Playing out a little arrogance I suspect. Do you know who I am, do you know how long I was out, I gave my heart and sole to this team....etc etc It only goes so far and the young guys likely don't give a crap You can either play or you can't. Even the last 4 games, yes he played better but I think you expect highs and lows- you just witnessed a high thats all in MO. Speaking of plus minus Horton! as we all know he hasn't scored-but look at his plus minus for someone who hasn't scored.....that tells you he's at least playing some defense and with that not "hurting" your team when he is on the ice. Savard over 20 games has not really lit up either, but his plus minus is the lowest on the team, that tells you he's not playing a lot of Defense and he is hurting your team on the ice. Now you boys play nice....
popper john
I didnt feel my four game before/after comparison was off base. SF still plays.. he is A OK in my book!! No here!! LETS MOVE ON!! SOMEBODY is gonna have to "step up" big time!! Who has the talent to fill Savards (old ) skates? Time to start pushing the kid? Will Horton break out and catch fire? Lots of opportunity here.....
Soundfisher
for the record PP....I said 4 games does not make a trend. Let's wait 20 games (AFTER Savard's absence) and see how it effects the overall production of the B's offense (and conversely, how it effects them from a defensive standpoint). In the end...Savard wasn't "the milk" you spoke of this year. In the past, he WAS, and I enjoyed his skill, vision, and creativity. Unfortunately, he is the Bruins modern day version of Tony Conigliaro. Anyway....I agree....no here. We're just B's fans keeping it interesting in the dog days of winter. Time to start pushing the kid? It's a risky proposition, but it might just be time to up the ante with Seguin. He's only averaging around 12-13 minutes a game. Personally, if you give him Savard type minutes, I think Seguin (at this point) would give them more production. Let the kid spread his wings. I know I've trashed the hell out of Horton (rightfully so), but something tells me he has been snakebitten for so long (yes, much has to do with effort....and also lack of confidence), the law of averages has to catch up sooner or later. Maybe another outburst like we saw at the beginning of the season? Could be coming. Kikkoman Pro Staff

town
Krejci stepped up big time a couple of seasons ago when Savard was injured. Hopefully Seguin can do the same. There is no doubt about his talent but you can see how uncomfortable he is and skates as if he is questioning his position and decisions. Like Wheeler he likes to prematurely cross the blue line too maybe Horton can get a empty net
