bluefish1928thing
How big of a fish can these things handle? Which one is the best? They are much cheaper than boga grips but the plastic is still making me doubtful. I want something that I can safely land 50 pound plus blue catfish from a small boat. John P
get a boga. Once in a lifetime purchase. When you're done you can sell it for a good price. It's also made in the USA.
Artie Fishil
I've used them to land some teen blues while wading. If your fishing from a boat, why not use a net?
Fishit 2
I use mine on the kayak, it handles Teen size Blues and it floats, for $10 why wouldn't you have one? I also like it for jetty fishing, hold the fish still while your taking the hook out of their mouf.
Gatr522
Great tool for the $. Locks well and holds. Short enough for an accurate grab-like an extension of your thumb but long enough to keep the trebles from a large plug away from your hand. For light fishing it can go easily into the side or back pocket of your shorts. I've used a lanyard-but many times I just clip it to my vest. Works great in a yak. Floats! No giants so far but plenty of teen & 20#ers. They make a FW trout size also. Never had a Boga- but I have a few knock offs with similar type jaws. IMO the flatter plastic sides on the gripper are less damaging to the fish. Works great for carrying a fish to the car. Had mine for over 10 yrs so far. Great bang for the buck. * Not a slam on the Boga either-great tool and I wouldn't mind having one.
