r111
Took my pa14 to a local lake for subject. Nice controlled conditions, calm, safe. Climbing back is easy. Just like what hobie shows in their videos, climb across, into the middle of yak, face down, pull up, turn around. Ez. Repeat till confident. Took a while to get her flipped. Used 6 foot rope I have attached to lh handle. With me in the water, on the side on the yak, feet against the right side of hull, body away, got some rhythm going and was able to flip her. Righting, using the same rope is so easy it isn't funny. Same technique, feet against the boat, rope over the hull to the other side, body away, simple tug gets her righted with zero effort. Good to have the confidence and I think everyone should practice it.
Bulldog
Way to go, everyone should do it, it is easy once you get the right way to do it. I always reached for the handle on my OK but its easier to just grab edge of boat an kick your legs up on mine. I've done it a couple times in practice and twice now when I wasn't expecting it, once in a ripping creek, it was almost instinct!. ........Jack Just wanna fish! MagDarter
Nice job! I flipped my PA12 yesterday too! But not on purpose! lol Good thing I was in 3 feet of water, even better the crab I went to net when I flipped didn't pinch me! I've gotta practice in all seriousness! I've also got an issue with leashing things on my boat but the thought of almost loosing my gear yesterday is making me think twice stay safe everyone

I just try to limit my losses... 1 or 2 rods... no real high end stuff. I can't fish with leashes, floats, etc. on my rods.
HanoverYakker
Also remember to practice in shallower/clear and calm water with the gear you plan on taking and the outerwear you plan on wearing. Does little to no good to be able to right the PA during summer with no gear attached then come winter, you are stuck with no idea how to right it fully loaded. Its more difficult when you are wearing a drysuit or extra layers. Just something to keep in mind.
