Fred H
Thanks guys. The legs are three pieces of 17lb mono . One piece for each pair of legs. The femur or upper thigh part of the leg is made by wrapping thread around that section of mono. This gives it more mass and the rest of the leg a taper. The joints are made by heating a bodkin and creating a permanent bend . The feet are created with cutting pliers. Crimping the mono to form segments without cutting completely through. Mono is a very versatile and durable tying material that cost very little and I am finding more and more uses for it everyday. Fred

Live2Fish
Those are fantastic! I'll have to give it a try! I came into this world with nothing, and I still have most of it!
Fred H
ktarcher there is not a lot more to these except to tie the legs in underneath and color them with markers. castinthesurf these float in the surface film not very high . You could substitue deer hair for some of the mono if you want it to float like a popping bug. Live2Fish thanks . I hope you try these out. If you have any questions while tying the pattern just shoot me a PM. Thanks ,Fred
