RnR
I was on the SP yesterday along with Gottog and Snoopygirl. They proceeded to put on an impressive bucktailing show. It was a good day, I ended up with 5 nice keepers. Bucktail and Gulp swimmers in the chartruesse flavor. Got Spros? Wishin' I was Fishin'
GOTTOG
Should of headed out with us. 18 fares only and our group of 6 had the stern to ourselves. Good amount of action and fair number of keepers. RnR had some nice fish as well. Either caught shorts or solid keepers, no inbetween. Chartreuse overload Team Goats
here fishy fishy
What exactly is attributing to all the small fish bein caught? pool fish at 3.5 pounds?? thats barely a sammich! is it the water temps? weather? what effects the fluke? do they migrate at all like stripas? teach me boys i wanna learn! and every time i have been flukin so far has been from the beach to kill time, is it rare to catch a nice keeper from the beach? i have only caught tinies... wonderin if bigger comes in that close to the beach each year or if flukin from the beach is mostly catchin shorts and just legal fish... however i did randomly catch a 21" fluke on a storm shad in november didn't quite understand that one... Skolmann
Should of headed out with us. I was just too tired from having spent a long day on the Reel Class Saturday to get up early Sunday in order to secure a prized stern corner position. I was more than happy with my 4 keepers in 3:15 hours of fishing time (the last 30-40 minutes the tide died, no drift and the bite completely shut down). Not sure what I'm doing next weekend. Might take the weekend off (to appease the better half). If I do get out, it will be either a Saturday Misty magic hour trip or a Sunday Capt. John foray. GOTTOG
Yeah, at about 1pm it died out as well. You'd have to have gotten to the boat before me as Hank was there at like 2:30 and took one corner. T and I were at the boat at a little before 4 I think. We had the entire stern and could have rotated spots for bucktailing if needed to. Was a good group of guys. And T of course Billy would have been proud. First cast with the chartreuse grub produced a searobin. Next casts produced fluke though I need some today. Team Goats

FishWithChris
RB area took out 6 buddies and endless 30 packs! one of my buddies hooked up 1st and won some money for 1st keeper, other buddy lands a 6lber and wins biggest pool, I was pretty pleased brought 3 home to a little over 20'' and sent many more back in the bay. Good day out there but the incoming produced far more fish
GOTTOG
That's what XL Rods are all about, lol!! I guess this is more unwanted bycatch Lovin that lil XL Rods spinner Pretty sure if SnoopyGirl would have switched to bucktailing earlier we could have had a shot for a boat limit Team Goats
Billy 40
Pretty sure if SnoopyGirl would have switched to bucktailing earlier we could have had a shot for a boat limit HaHA!!!! Yeah, at least one of you would have known what you were doing then, lol!! I'm glad you like that rod, that was the last I had of that exact blank, although I have an exact duplicate from GUSA. I've been fishing with that for the past 3 or 4 years (total of 8 times, lol), so I know why you like it more and more each time you use it. GOTTOG
The rod kicks butt. Did miss the hi-vis line though. Hopefully the replacement spool comes in this week. The Lami feels way too soft for me now too. LOL Betcha the Gulp crabs would have been killer out there too. Team Goats
Billy 40
The Lami feels way too soft for me now too. LOL I'm glad to hear that, that's the first thing I said when I felt it, lol. Damn wet noodle. I think you should try Gulp Mussles for Flounder. That's gotta be a waste of $6, lol. Looks like shriveled up orangish poop. Remember the time Uncle Bob & my parents came out, and Theresa was scavenging for that crab...then caught 2 or 3 keepers on teh same one? Or was that Elke? Probably was both of them, the 2 idiots we were we laughed at them and Bted for Nada as they caught. GOTTOG
Mate Mike was picking crabs out of a bunch of stuff that was brought up from a snag. He put them in a bait cup for Theresa without anyone asking him to. LOL The up sofite was used as well Funny as the mates and others that try the Lami love it. I used to love it and it worked fine. T catches on it well, but I thought I was fishing mono when I tried it briefly on sunday. Probably need to use it for awhile and get back to it's "feel" and action. Does the GUSA equivalent come as a longer blank? That's the only thing that would make it perfect, maybe another 4-6" longer. Here's a few more shots from the day... Yeah, the one you have I think is 7'? That blank started at 6', and was extended with teh Titanium, I guess I didn't extend it enough. The GUSA comes in 7', and can be made longer if neccesary. Who's teh guy not wearing a shirt, that's a violation.
