looks like the weather should be interesting this weekend, cloudy on saturday and rain on sunday, should make for a fun little tournament if i do say so myself, will definitely weed out the fair weather fishermen.

was thinking about maybe trying out a fly rod this weekend too

pretty much my main area, and its been producing decent fish all year

Fished that area you describe above late this week....dead as a doornail...fished north of the inlet the following day & limited out on blues in less than 2 hrs...most were small...one presumed gator inhaled the whole rig and cut me clean....

"Gator Blues" is a NY , NJ monicker....in the fall run on long island we use to have a week or two after the "cocktail" & "teen " size blues went through...of  acres & acres of "gorilla gator".. blues

I used to fish at night for them using small pieces of chain (5-6") attached to the hook to keep them from biting it off....They used to call me & my friend "the chain gang"

never saw any that big on delmarva...at least not yet anyway...

as for the "shark"- it took off like a bluefish and my drag was screaming  for about 30 secs...then poof...all gone- line cut clean...
