blushin
looks like the weather should be interesting this weekend, cloudy on saturday and rain on sunday, should make for a fun little tournament if i do say so myself, will definitely weed out the fair weather fishermen. was thinking about maybe trying out a fly rod this weekend too
Macnanamis
For those that have got out and fished the beaches this week it seems like they are not catching all that much. Lets hope that they are just using the wrong set up!!! Surf tourney right around the corner who is going to get involed???!!!!!!!

blushin
yeh i talked to a bunch of guys catching stuff in DSSP in south bethany/fenwick, honestly, havent heard much from guys up north, seems the only thing producing up there right now is the inlet pretty much my main area, and its been producing decent fish all year

Long Wader
I think most folls use gater to refer to a big spec trout. Most folks I know refer to big blues as choppers which kind of makes sense when you think about what happened to your rig. KOSS
To me "gator" means blue...but I hear it from my jersey friends. Regardless, I would guess it was a shark and not a blue...
hot tuna
"Gator Blues" is a NY , NJ monicker....in the fall run on long island we use to have a week or two after the "cocktail" & "teen " size blues went through...of acres & acres of "gorilla gator".. blues I used to fish at night for them using small pieces of chain (5-6") attached to the hook to keep them from biting it off....They used to call me & my friend "the chain gang" never saw any that big on delmarva...at least not yet anyway... as for the "shark"- it took off like a bluefish and my drag was screaming for about 30 secs...then poof...all gone- line cut clean...
