You may want to look at the Bass Pro Inshore Extreme series. They are usually $100 but they have been on sale for $80. I picked up a couple of them to keep under the seat of my truck and I have been very happy with them.

Hi my friend. If you spend 100.00 bucks for the rod are you going to use that red reel?confused.gif BTW, what kind of red reel is that?

You can get an 8' Tica or Tsunami, both decent rods. There are options for you if your budget consious.smile.gif

I will NOT be using the red spinning reel (shakespeare pro-touch PT40) on my new plugging rod. I will either mount my Penn 250GR (old Penn Graphite reel circa 1988) or get a new reel. The penn still works like a champ.

Bless their shiny little hearts...

Tica Dolphin series rods are very nice for the money. Fuji guides - in the 60 - 70 range. Put a Penn reel on it and your good to go. Now go buy some plugs and have fun!biggrin.gif

I do have a Tica rod for my lighter setup and have had no problems with it what so ever.
