Striped Bass
Here is the part I do not understand. Why keep the fish? Aparently you guys are not starving, you look healthy to me, and have money for a charter boat. Why dont you catch and release? So you can brag and show off 1 or 2 fish? This and among other reasons is why the fisheries are the way they are today, mans vanaty and greed. In pretty close to 30 years of fishing I have never keeped 1 striper, not one. kegger7676
I personally only keep a couple of fish a year but the law is 2 fish per day over 28". If they wanted you to throw them back the limit would be zero fish per day. There is nothing wrong with keeping a few fish to enjoy with your family and friends as long as you follow the rules and limits. fishfry
Good for you Striped Bass. But that's your decision not theirs, looks like they followed the rules, why preach when a law has not been broken.

No, we are not starving, and we did shell out some money for the trip. There were twelwe of us looking to have a good time and catch some fish. We kept 6 fish total and threw countless back. These fish were all legal, obviously, and as far as i understand we were allowed by law to keep some fish. I enjoy catching fish and eating them as well. as far as i am concerned if you do not keep any stripers that is your business. UPSmanMatt
Looks like it was a good night. My dad and I went a few years ago on the F.F. and I think only one guy caught a fish. It was terrible. Tangled lines and other mayhem made for a long night. I wish Striped Bass weren't so damned delicious. I personally kept only one last year, and have released all of my fish in '09. I think your looking for the PITA Forum. If your so fired up about saving bass what are you doing putting hooks in their face and dragging them half dead up the rocks? Get lost. Szabs
PITA members shouldn't even fish. You hurt those poor animals by hooking them. I keep what's legal and only as much as we want to eat. I love fish, I love fishing and I'm not there to hurt them, I am there to catch one that I can actually cook. Yeah, I'm not a good fisherman, I'm sure the fisheries would be totally happy if everybody caught as much fish as I do

Hey bro, that's pretty harsh. Honestly mister, what did you expect to read on a fishing website? With that logic in mind, it would appear that you simply joined to harass the members of this forum? Let me know if that's the case so that I can report your behavior to Tim. If that is truely your motivation, to harrass fishermen who keep their catch, you really should go find somewhere else to post your thoughts. Scanning through a few of your posts I can see you're politically motivated and pretty myopic for a young lad of 38. While I might share your conservative views, I disagree that your views should be the rule. That runs especially true for your opinions (that's right, just opinions) on C&R versus keeping fish for food or trophy. There are many websites dedicated to the furthering of your C&R ideals, please, either spend your time participating in those discussions, patting each other upon your self-annointed noble backs, or express your opinions AS opinions, not as reprimands to those who exercise their choice to eat fish. H'Islander
Crabby - Looked like a great time - I've heard that head boats can be fun. Glad you guys got onto a few fish. Fish or no, it's good to get out with the pals once in a while. Fish are just a bonus!! "When the government's boot is on your throat, whether it is a left boot or a right boot is of no consequence."
