Mimic
Hey woody. This might help ya out. A couple posts from a while back on these plugs. Posted by Twisted Whistle 12/12/2005 ALOT of thought went into all of them. I wanted a swimmer that would hold in all sorts of snot, swim good, look good, be original, and be durable, as you all know thats alot to ask and far more to achieve, but oh boy is it fun Posted by Twisted Whistle 6/5/2006 I made it to hold in heavy current but it will get the job done anywhere. Its 2 ounces and 5.5 inches long it casts like a rocket with no tumble. It swims with little roll and will stay near the top to about six feet down. My new batch I lightened up to swim more near the surface after some good advice. Posted by Twisted Whistle on 9/18/2006 Over two years ago drawings where done, along with many different experiments, some good others bad. I bounced Ideas off of alot of people. My buddie Joe and I nearly went crazy with ideas. Hes the kinda guy that says "why not" when you say "it cant work" I always wanted a castable swimmer, one that casted great, without fouling and swam even better. The idea was function but with a different look. I wanted to reach areas that held fish that only poppers and metals would hit. The first models where divers which held in strong current without roll. The plugs pictured swim on top, they come all the way around without flipping out. The head stays down "holding itself" and the body from the hook hanger back swings on axis at the slowest slowest retrieve. I am pleased with the result. They look like a very easy wounded bait in panic. Thanks Russ and Joe as always. We push each other and its always fun. The specs are as follows 5.5 inch -- 2.5 ounce 2/0 treble 4x--- bucktail flap on back-- wired through and sealed. Thanks everybody for the kind words. I hope all your customs hang good fish for you!
