  1. I decided to try out the Twin Power and I'm deliberating between these two models. Does anyone have experience with one or the other or both and could give me some advice? Mainly going to fish from the surf and jetties. Thanks
  2. What do you guys throw when fishing in rough surf and strong winds, especially when the wind is perpendicular to where you cast and when the bottom is rocky. Would love to hear your input
  3. You can also check out the Japanese rods, I have a Major Craft Skyroad Surf and its fantastic for anything up to 30 grams
  4. The only sealed reel for under 200$ is the Spheros as far as I know
  5. Good to see more Israelis here. Welcome
  6. Has anyone heard of these reels? They are starting to be marketed here and I wanted to know if you have any info on them.
  7. I have a 5000 Spheros on a 8' St. Croix Triumph Surf and it's fine.
  8. It sounds way too good to be true... A 50$ sealed reel? It's probably a Chinese re-branded reel that would fail after a couple of saltwater trips. I'm extremely skeptical about it. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
  9. If you're looking for a sealed 4000 Shimano only the Stella SW and Twinpower SW as far as I know are sealed and come in 4000 size
  10. The SW is misleading, it's not a sealed reel like other shimano SW reels like the Spheros/Gosa/Twinpower/Stella
  11. Exactly!!! If they had made a Spheros/Gosa SW in size 3000-4000 it would have been a killer reel for the lighter saltwater applications, I would have certainly bought one, but then I'm guessing Stradic sales would probably fall. I think the only other reels with those seals are the Twinpower SW and Stella SW
  12. I was wiped out with my spheros which is basicaly the same, the reel was submerged for a few good minutes and its working like nothing happened (only rinsed afterwards and oiled the roller bearing)
  13. I have the frogg toggs pilot and love them, a bit over your budget but very good quality waders (they are stockingfoot)
  14. I have an old pair of Smith's Work Wear thermal underwear pants and they do an excellent job of keeping me warm when I wear my waders. Not that expensive at all (at least from what I remember when I got it in the states back in 2009).
  15. You guys in Europe are lucky compared to us here. The fishery rules are from the 1900s. Over-fishing is an understatement compared to what we have here and alongside with no minimum size people keep bluefish and seabass from maybe 1-2 lb. No regulation at all. The commercial fisherman with the nets (trollies) destroy everything and 70% of their catch is about 240g and gets tossed back dead. Hopefully things are starting to change since we started going to the press and it seems there might be a change
