From Newark Star Ledger">The largest striped bass entered in last year's New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife Skillful Anglers contest was taken by a surfcaster. Gary Rzemyk of Ventnor City used a live bunker at Long Beach Island to hook a 55716-pounder at 1 p.m., July 6.

Looks like those fluke regs. are starting to make a difference too! I used to never get fluke bigger than 6,000 lbs!

i hate when im fluke fishing & have to bring the harpoon. also have that pesky hassle of having it lifted out by crane.

im sticking to "school" fluke this year... 1000# or less.
