There is a lot of stuff in the FAQ's at the top of the board. For example, if you have a Vega Duplicator:

You didn't mention what type you had. There is plenty of other info there also.

Nice plug.

Oh, and try not to shout. wink.gif

Black Label,

I use the Vega MIDI and with good results. I think the range of adjustment is over 2". That should be more than enough for any plug. I do turn my stock from square to the approx shape of the plug on another lathe just to minimize wear on the duplicators cutter. That way, I can turn many more plugs between sharpenings.

Just today, I ordered the replacement 2 sided carbide cutter for the Vega. It's pricey at $79.00 but I'm hoping it will save time in the long run.

I'm also on the fence about ordering the steb centers for my lathe. That sounds like another big time saver and a safety plus.

Bill,

I know those steb centers are precision tools, but the head and tail stock centers together cost almost as much as my lathe!

Still, I see them in mt future. biggrin.gif

Dig,

I use them in my headstock. I bought a real nice live center for the tail stock. The live center needs to beable to find center at the bottom of a popper cup while I drill the tail weight hole.

Yeah they go for around 70 bucks each but you will only buy them once.... icon14.gif
