Fishing striped bass in Manhattan

I have read a few guys who fish Manhattan in the message boards. I have fished the Hudson from the piers with some surprisingly good results the past few years. This year is a little different. It’s been much slower for me (and everyone else) outside of the city. I’m curious how other guys are doing?

Western LI sound was horrible this year, we would be seeing the same bodies of fish especially those fish from dinks to the slot sized fish.

For real. Have had a couple of good days, but otherwise it’s been a lousy spring. Even when they are here, it’s been hard to get them to hit. From what I can tell, they’re zeroed in on tiny little pinky sized rain bait.

It was a fair winter/spring on the tidal river this year, not as good as 22’ and 23’’. Like every year, December was the best month!
Caught a few early bass in the Sound this year, usually it’s quite slow till June. Zero bunker or bluefish so far!

Tis better to remain silent and thought the fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.
