Travel Rod Ferrule Wax

Why does it have to be assembled that long? I’m not sure a wax would stay good for that long. I’d take the rod apart occasionally just to make sure the ferrules don’t lock together and clean them with a quick wipe down each time.

Using a good pair of gripped gloves helps a lot when connecting/separating the sections.

Many years back I had a problem with a 2 piece where the tip would sometimes fly off when I cast.   I decided to rub on some wax on the ferrule to see if it would fix the issue 

Never had any problems after that.  Any candle wax seems to work fine.   I use the butt end of old candlesticks that I have laying around the house.  Just rub it on ...

Hockey stick wax works great.  This is what I use on all my multi piece rods.  My rods always stay assembled hanging in my basement… no issues getting them apart or having the top section come off while casting.
