knot for end of leader

Hi:

I've started to use bucktails, and have been using a duolock snap to put on at the end...if I tie direct I use an improved clinch knot, but then retying on a different bucktail is a pain, etc....would a knot like a perfection knot be useful...that way it would be easier to just slip the bucktail on rather than having to retie...

Is the perfection knot strong, and would it affect the play of the bucktail? thanks.

Mud -

Often I've foregone the use of a snap and tied directly with a loop. I think you'll find the prefection knot rather bulky with it's tab. Try a double overhand knot loop also called a surgeon's end loop or a double surgeon's loop.

I pass through, over the bucktail and pull back through, snugging against the eye. I don't create a loop at the eye.
