Not the same surgery, but I had a partial wrist fusion almost 3 years ago at 32. The outer 4 bones on the top and bottom row are screwed together with 3 screws, doc also took out the scaphoid bone and shaved my radius bone down.

About 12 stitches on a 3 inch slice.

Recovery/ PT and back to work on the oyster farm in 2 months.

First surgery was a scoping to clean out a TFCC tear.

Still have daily pain, but that's because of the AVN on my capitate bone which was the initial reason for surgery, also had a P.I.N disconnect procedure while he was in there.

Fishing is possible, but it definitely does hurt, but that could be because I can't bend my wrist

Edit: this surgery was to stop arthritis spreading from the dead capitate bone to the others, after about 10 x rays, 4 MRIs, 8 cortisone shots and a lot of money I'm glad I got the surgery

As bad as the RT elbow looks the RT wrist is worse

ACW (advanced collapsed wrist) after falling hard off the back of my truck 35 yrs ago.

Broke bone and torn cartilage. Bone on bone wear Doc wants to pull some bone out of my hip and transplant it into my wrist.

Told him to gtfo.

Still do nonstop fishing and catching.

Again..beer helps. And a daily wrap..

Weed not so much.

Best of luck.

About 45 years ago I had bone pulled out of my hip and planted in my leg.
Not a big deal...
