Carpet store for cardboard tubes, or home depot thin PVC tubes. FedEx sells triangular box/tubes, but they are pricey. Cheaper to go to a carpet place or HD.

+1 Home Depot employees will usually give me a funny look and tell me i can just take whatever carpet tubes are lying on the floor

Over the past year I've shipped probably 30-40 packages of blanks and rods which comes out to 150+ blanks and rods

All of those but one have been through USPS (it's the closest to me and cheapest)

The one that wasn't was ups because it was just outside of USPS length requirements for the size tube I had

Zero breakages, zero losses, generally delivery within a week and a half max in the Continental USA

I know some.folks have horror stories but I personally don't
