Something I’ve gone back and forth on over the last few years . I feel like a loose drag is best and loose less fish that way once on the steep incline of deep trough at lip of beach . How do you guys like to have your drag set and why ?

Butch,

Hope with the new year coming you are able to get out more. You as well @moocksif you haven’t been able to get out.

Fishing is the only thing that keeps me sane…..

What is this sanity you speak of?

Be the chimp, not the frog.....

The opposite of insanity, which happens if I don’t fish much. ;)

Lots of chocolate water up here due to the Pineapple Express. Back to the lake this weekend, though not my first choice…..Would rather fish saltwater.

I like to find a drag setting that's tight enough to set the hook, and yet loose enough to give line in a pinch. I guess it's on the tight side, for that final pull up the beach. On the steeper beaches, it's a good idea to always use a wave to bring the fish in and deposit it on the sand. But you all know that :)

Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught.
