Cannot tell on that one but on the Zon there's plastic glider blanks very cheap. They are fun to paint and they actually swim very well.

Not sure how strong the hangers are though as they are geared towards muskie..

This is just one of the yozuri twitch baits

Ok, so next question. I know alot of you guys have garages or dedicated areas where it’s safe to paint without fumes being an issue. I only have my basement, so it is an issue. I’ve seen some DIY paint booths made of cardboard or plastic equipped with small vent fans. Looking for ideas for making one? Whatcha guys doing?

Maybe should have started another thread? If so Tim, i can do so.

Sometimes I put a box fan in the window (basement) and spray about 7 ' away. Pulls the fumes out pretty good.

Most times though I would just use a latex glove & hemostats and spray outside.

(spray downwind ;-)  )

Another tip I forgot-keep some ready-paper clips/bent wire etc on a tight pc of clothes line to hang each plug to dry.

Is flat paint preferable for an epoxy finish?

I've used both & see little difference.  The flat paints will look glossy once covered with a good coat of epoxy.  As for epoxy I like Systems 3 Clear Coat & Silver Tip.  Be sure to mix any epoxy thoroughly & also have the temps adequately warm.

Stupid questions but:

”epoxy finish” is just a finish and limited/no structural integrity added?

Presumably more weight being added than with rattle can paint?

Awesome stuff Sandbar1! Thanks for sharing pics, that’s exactly what i’m hoping to be able to achieve eventually!
Thanks guys,  i appreciate all the info!

Also are you guys sanding the plug at all? Some are new and some will be old/used.

Nice thread. Can’t offer anything of much value and I am more interested in the people with actual experience anyway. (Though I have spray painted a few used plastic ones for giggles.)

The one thing I will add:

Might be silly, but I don’t sand them for fear of weakening the structure. (Even though I’ll drill a hole & add mineral oil, lol.)

Is there a place that sells them locally in NY?

New Yorks graffiti scene is good, Montana started out for the artists so I’m sure there’s plenty of places there that sell it
