There are some issues with it as noted above, such as not being able to swing the bag all the way around, but has to do more with design limitations than anything else. I've handled the Flatlander belt as well and it looked to be of equal quality, just a different design is all. When we discover antigravity belt attachment, you'll be the 1st one on the list. Any boat owner knows that salt spray has a negative reaction to velcro closures on T-tops and plastic window connections. We do more than getting sprayed. A good local tailor should be able to replace old Velcro without much hassle, even better if you can find someone who specializes in custom tactical gear. My gear gets fished hard and the Velcro is still holding after multiple seasons wetsuiting. Occasionally clean the male teeth with fresh water and use a soft brush and small pick to remove any mung or debris. You’re not climbing Mt Everest for feck sake. I bought 2 belts from the Surfcaster 30yrs ago with the plastic cam lock buckle, still work like new...they might have been $15 each if that much. The plastic side should be good for life. Sandbar maintains and cleans his Velcro A belt maker had advise on how to replace his Velcro. I don't like failures and/or extra maintenance. I see many young casters with no belt, pliers , lure bag or knife. Now that's simple.

That part is not on special material, easily doable on any home sewning machine, not by me lol. I do see some people with no belts and a giant wader opening on top, it's all fun until he take the 1st wave and swell up like a ballon.

Great belt and the price is right. http://www.tiderunner.com/ultimatesurfbelt.htm I have both and gear up is superior, a solid rigid belt that can hold weight. Extra layer, go to the next hole. $30 at the big river store, excellent high grade SS. Lives in the back of the truck, no issues that I can see after a few years of 5 nights a week. Simple but effective! this looks like a pretty easy solution but how to keep the bungee secured so it doesn’t come unhooked? I don’t use a belt besides the one that comes with my waders but I don’t hang anything on the belt. My small 2-3 tube plug bag gets pliers in the top side, knife secured behind it in the belt loops and carry over my shoulder where I can swing it around front or back and ride it high out of the water if I’m wading somewhat deep. Btw I have the same Spyderco Salt fixed blade. Mine actually does have some slight corrosion on the blade but better than some other knives I’ve had that get dunked and not rinsed. No Bait. No Barbs. No Buckets.

Bungee has never come undone...... It's a great, simple surf belt but you can't put too much on it. Even a small plug bag is too much...... Spyderco knife is good so far. No rust.
