Italianbuca
29 mins ago, dvalente98 said: Z belt materials is nice and soft. But the straps on there can handle a heavy bag no problem. I put everything I carry on the belt including the bag. Not having anything draped over your shoulder is really nice. also, depending on how much walking and how much time I’ll be fishing, I attach a pair of old suspender I have from my days as a carpenter. They’re are holes on the zbelt that allow for this (although I’m pretty sure they’re not there for that reason). I may look ridiculous but I’ve walked very far and spent a lot of time in that setup. As far as I’m concerned, doesn’t get much better comfort wise. I don’t have lower back issues (yet) so I can’t comment on that side of things. not knocking it because thats a great idea to using the holes for suspenders haha, but I believe they are intended as lanyard/leash tie locations. tristate and dvalente98
Rat Master
I have a Z-Belt and I love it. My ONLY gripe is with the buckle/closure system. Not a fan of that rolly/slidy bar thing. Good news is it really chinches down tight on itself and it's secure as heck, but with frozen hands or if you're taking it on and off frequently, it can be a slight hassle to deal with but not the end of the world. Full disclosure, I've never even handled a Tiderunner belt so I will not comment on their product other than it looks very well built and a preferable buckle IMO. My old man used to tell me that my 2 cents were worth about 1 so take that for what it is lol. But that's the way I see it.

OnlyDinks
I really like my flatlander belt, simple buckle and easy to slide bags around and add/remove bags. I had a couple of Z belts and they’re ok but they are big and bulky and the way the webbing is stitched to the back pad limits how much stuff you can put on it and how far behind you you can push things when you’re casting. Also, wasn’t crazy about the roller buckle and I thought the Velcro was cheap and wore out fast and it takes more time to add/remove bags if you are switching things up. Z belt do provide some back support if that’s something you need. I like my bags on my belt and I use the shoulder strap to spread the weight around and found the flatlander works best for me. Any decent belt will do the trick, this really comes down to personal preference.

Sandbar1
Tiderunner all the way. Quality belt, quality buckle, set it up as needed for the end user. If I was walking a beach in waders I may consider the Z but it's too bulky for serious wetsuiting IMO. It's also less configurable than a standard webbing belt. I would avoid anything with a cheap plastic buckle like the low end pistol belts. Years back I lost one in big surf conditions when the buckle opened/failed. hunter123 1 Chasing false echoes Send lawyers, guns, and money - Zevon When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro - Thompson DITCH TROLL
Camhabib
I have the ZBelt Slim and can definitely suggest it. There are some issues with it as noted above, such as not being able to swing the bag all the way around, but has to do more with design limitations than anything else. I've handled the Flatlander belt as well and it looked to be of equal quality, just a different design is all.
FallenKell
My belt is just a heavy duty rubber dive belt with stainless compression buckle. I then added a molly web to it and can mount bags/pouches/d-rings/etc (you can see the belt+molly rolled up in the top right of the following pic with some of the bags I have that I attach to it (I believe these 2 bags are surplus USMC "canteen" pouches). The velcro thing would aggravate me to the point if i was able to cut it off i would. Im gonna definitely wait until the shows and see it in person and try it on. Thats the one thing that i dont like with the ultimate surf belt, the rockhopper one and some others.

My issue is not exactly with the velcro, more with the actual metal buckle interface. Just wanted to clarify. I'd definitely suggest you try on first... a good idea for any piece of kit. Which I should do more of lol. But hey you live and you learn.

Sand I can see, but what is the difficulty with salt and velcro?
