Surfers were having a blast in all the other beaches I stopped to check. The walk back was even worse coz I didn't catch anything. Not even a tap. With all the holiday plans, I think I'm done for the season oceanside. Time to switch local. See ya all in the spring! 40shades-of-blue
Four hours out front OC this morning. Finally broken my fall skunk. Only one small bass. But it’s something. NE wind and some pretty good sized waves. Some other out didn’t see anything else caught. Having some lunch and going to head out for a bit this afternoon. Tomorrow’s wind forecast looks interesting. GeoffT
The "death march" used to be worth the trip back in the day when 10-20 fish a night was fairly common. I didn't even mind Penelope the ghost sneaking up behind me. Edited November 20 by GeoffT bdowning

Managed to get on them for a bit as I moved north. Saw the masses, tried to stay away for the most part. Managed to go 2 for 3 on soft plastics and 2 for 4 on a metal lip. Smiles were had, jokes were made... at my expense, when I fumbled a 20 inch fish as it got its second wind mid release flailing all over the place... All in good fun. Great way to spend an afternoon/evening with some polite peeps. All fish under-slot. Finally living up to my screen name again lol! Rat gang beats skunk gang all day!! That’s like the first session of the year and you stop and ask why the heck am I huffing and puffing. Feel ya there brother as we age on. Does suck though to walk so much and to see the masses we have been seeing on the beaches this year. I guess that’s good for business and hope that our local tackle shops are making well. adobo

Popular Post MC55
Did another one of those headed in the wrong direction mornings. Went to the north country and thought it might open up with some birds poking around but a stiff north wind took care of that. Headed back to the south and again, when back in the home waters there were fish to be had. Only caught the tail end of the bite but landed 6 with the biggest at 33 inches. Need to get my fishdar tuned up for sure. Hoping for a pre-storm bite in the morning with a NE wind. Will be staying closer to home tomorrow. bill cunnane, 40shades-of-blue, Sam3631 and 14 others 14
jerseystriper
Took a long walk myself at predawn- ended up with 2 for the effort but north wind and fly rod at this spot is not a great compo- fish were around but just no way to get to them. took further long walks to get a bit out of the wind, none of which produced. Poked around a few other places with zero results- Went home, Raked up leaves, took a nap and didnt have to work so all in all not a terrible day. 40shades-of-blue, richie c, adams54 and 2 others 4
Popular Post BrianZ
Had 13 in the dark last night. Out front and back. One over, 3 slot and the rest under. timing waves in the dark was a challenge but when you got it right you knew it would result in a bite JMB, encavale, Sam3631 and 10 others 12
