I'm thinking about coming down to get some more and I don't wanna waste a trip if they're gone. Oh yeah. If you look at my 3rd picture down, that's where my son was digging for them. You can see where there's more disturbed sand, there's more fleas. Leave the rake home and bring a shovel. They're down about a foot. ReeferRob
We're gonna hit the OC inlet tomorrow and maybe over to AI on Saturday to get more bait for the winter. SneakyWeakie
I had an awesome 2 day trip to Kiptopeke. First time there and it exceeded expectations. 10 Keeper sized fish between two days with 3 fish over 20" released, including my new PB at 21"! I've been trying to crack the 20" mark for years so to do it three times in one day was awesome. Day 1 was pretty slow with just one short in the morning and a couple small keepers towards the end of the day. Day 2 was great though with 8 keeper sized fish including my new PB and 2 more 20.5" fish. I kept my limit of 16"-20" fish and released all the fish over 20" plus one barely legal female. Keepers from the trip two from day 1 four from day 2. Put my new vacuum sealer to good use. Gonna be some good chowdah! 21" PB. This was my third fish of the day and I released it before I had my limit for the good karma, and it paid off because right after I caught a 20.5" and 19.5" out of the same hole. 20.5" also released MDsurffishing, ReeferRob, ProSkateFisherman and 5 others 7
Beachman22
Friday's trip to AI resulted in no bites. 6 to 8 oz. to hold bottom. Count of 5 when we went on and count of 10 when we left. Didn't see anyone else fishing. All were enjoying a beautiful day. hunter123, ReeferRob and MDsurffishing
ReeferRob
Got nothing at the OC inlet. Lots of throwbacks up to 15", but no keeper Tog and the Sheepies are out til spring I think. It was absolutely beautiful on the water yesterday. Some days you're the windshield and some days you're the bug. hunter123 1 "The sea, the great unifier, is man's only hope. Joe
I fished the Ocean Princess on Friday. Limits for me & my son. My 12lb Bluefish took the pool. Tons of shorts. We got a couple pushing 3 lbs. Also, as many 2-3 lb bluefish as you wanted. I fileted a couple for bait. I lost a nice one by the kayak in OC inlet in June I'm still sad about, looked to be about 23". I tried jigging a cripple herring some at the ships when I saw marks but didn't get any bites. When I was stationed in NC, I'd stop by the Rte 50 bridge on my way home and pick up 5 nice Grey trout. I mean trout that would hang out of a 5 gallon bucket. I'd take 5 and head on home and cook them. There was a little guy there once, he might have been 10 years old, I don't think his folks had 2 nickels to rub together much less spend money on a new rod and reel. I showed him how to catch them and he landed one that was just shy of 29" as I recall. His mom showed up, I don't think either of them had anything to eat that day. I asked her if she had a way to clean and keep them and she said yes so I filled their bucket with trout, got my 5 and headed out. Back then I think the limit was 8 and I knew those were going to be eaten and not wasted. The next week through they were both out there sharing the rod he had that sounded like it was grinding grain. I had a rod and reel that I never used and gave it to them. I'll see if I have one of the rigs I used to use, as I recall it had 2 teasers on the top with no hooks and the Stingsilver on the bottom. I used to catch Bunker and grind them at Chris' place and I'd dip my Stingsilver in it. Dunno if it made much difference, but we'd always hit our limit when everyone else wouldn't. Some netters showed up there around 1997 and the trout fishing was never the same.
