luckyOC
As always, this is the place for your reports... as little or as much detail as you care to share, with hopefully a good bit less focus posted on exact spots, times, and locations. Any and all word from the local waters welcome here, and "no fish" reports are welcome as well; always good to have gotten out there at least, wasn't it? ;) Here is to hoping things get back to normal, and by normal we can fish..... (and catch a drum or two)

luckyOC
technically surfing, i don't pay attention to the rating, its the other information Just the fact its not 20-30 NE with 8 ft swells is enough at this point. spinr0k
Not crazy about the winds for this weekend but at this point it is a matter of who is hungrier, me to fish or the mosquitos/flys for my blood while I fish.
Esoxhunter
I got nowhere just now talking with the ranger station. Was told they check it at high tide. I know that, it's high tide now. Person I talked to had no idea if they had anyone out checking it. Anyone else know if they are checking it today?
spinr0k
You just gotta wait like the rest of us to see the facebook post that it is opened or you can always park in the circle parking lot and walk out and fish while waiting. I now need to find some fresh bait for this weekend, I had to freeze my bait while waiting for the OSV to open.

stripers02
Just did all of the above this morning. Asked at the Ranger Station about when they would evaluate. They said high tide/ 10:49 AM. Fished out front on the walk on. Back in the lot, give it an hour and hope. If not, back tomorrow?!?

Steve Coleman
I think it's just because you can cast to Spain with the wind at your back. Poppy liked west too. I am a South wind guy tho. Hard to believe the Mc. beach is still entirely closed. It's flat calm and nice here on the western shore. Be nice if the overlords realized how wide the island really is and expanded our corridor when necessary. I'm sure the surf is not washing all the way over to the sound. I'll be down Friday with my cast nets and sand flea rake since they've screwed up the beaches in NC so there are no fleas available for Sheepshead fishing. If you know somewhere to go for fresh mullet, I could do a couple of throws for you. The place we used to go to was sold a few years ago so I have no place on the sound side to net. Steve Coleman
I haven't seen Poppy in a long time, probably 8 years. Probably throwing lures in cape cod or thereabouts these days would be my guess.
Frank2104
A crappy start today. At 5 am a driver in a hurry blows thru a right turn on red with no stop and creases my fight front fender! Got better tho! South end of 3r on mullet chunk rwilliamsjr26, Steve Coleman, sbcbmx112 and 3 others 5
