Heavy Seas
Recently picked a couple of these up. How are guys rigging them? I put a 2/0 treble on the front and 1/0 on the back but the 2/0 seems a little big.
jckcrr
That little plug can take big hooks, 3/0 treble and a 5/0 dressed siwash on the back.... I wouldn't run less than the 2/0 treble personally VanStaalSteve and surfrat59 1

John P
For many reasons I would put a siwash dressed hook on the rear.

I get that it does less damage to the fish.
John P
I don't think it changes the action at all..I have rigged all my wooden lip plugs this way and they produce very well . Yes when you crimp the barbs the damage goes way down including to your hands. Almost every bass I catch on plugs go for the front of the plug. HarryHood711
Also run cut hooks, ditch the split rings. Where do you go when the lights go out?

I know a lot of guys prefer this method but I don’t really understand why given today’s split rings are very strong. I know it eliminates a point of failure but I’ve only ever had an issue with split rings failing after landing a large number of fish on it. It's because the maker designs, tests and recommends using cut hooks on his plugs. Heavy Seas

I even asked him the other night just out of curiosity and it was a hard no on the split rings, not even on the tail hooks. Heavy Seas 1 Where do you go when the lights go out?
