70bbvette
Was gifted some fishing lures. In this assortment are Northbar And Sporting Wood darters. The shape looks identical. My question is with one being made of plastic and the other wood is the action different between the 2.The Sporting Wood ones definitely have a nicer finish on them. Not that it matters to the fish.I don’t think Edited September 22 by 70bbvette
Italianbuca
you would be surprised how different the action can be plastic vs wood, or even between two of the same wood plugs. I have 4 gibbs wood darters that are identical weights and style, yet swim differently between each other (deeper vs shallow and how wide of a swing). swim them both during the day in clear water and see how they act. I tend to go for wood first, mainly because most plastic have rattles and sometimes fish don't want that. So when going to a spot I go for subtle first, if nothing then go for stuff that would attract fish in, even if nothing after that then I would move on haha. bluefish around, go for the plastic rather than killing the wood, but battle scars are good memories and juju too. 0119 and Heavy Hooksetter
