Why do you want a one piece over a two

I'm always amazed that people are still stuck on thinking a 1 piece rod is somehow better.

If anyone still makes them you're paying a HUGE amount of money for shipping and gaining nothing.

If you can find one locally & in stock, shipping isn’t an issue. And while I agree that the 70/30 split 2-piece rods are great (I have a few), given the choice I still prefer a one piece. Call me old school ;-).

The problem is, the blank or rod still gets shipped at least twice by the time it arrives where you're going to buy it.

Most people *think* a one piece is better because old 50/50 blanks sucked. Modern butt over tip 70/30 blanks are perfection. There's absolutely no difference in how they fish compared to a one piece.

Tip over butt 50/50 or 70/30 blanks still have many downfalls compared to one piece.

even if you want to claim that 1 piece blanks aren't better, if storage and transportation aren't issues, why would someone be better off with a 2 piece rod instead of a 1 piece?  ferrules do break, they do get stuck.

I prefer peace. But if trouble must come, let it come in my time, so that my children can live in peace.
