dannyplug1
Looking for a cart for my hobie outback. I have the big wheel cart from hobie. it has advantages and disadvantages. Advantage it has big wheels that go over sand and Rugh terrain. disadvantages the hobie car I have is not well balanced the cart should attach closer to the midships or bow section. It is a real strain on the arm. the second problem with the hobie is it doesn't break down to be stored in the hull. the biggest problem is that you can't adjust the position of the cart to balance the load. any input would be appreciated. saltfisherman
I made this a bunch of years ago when I owned a hobie. Very easy to make, evens the load over the scuppers and centers the weight. GeoffT, csteven, joem and 1 other 2
cheech
I take it you have scupper cart, yes it’s top heavy to pull from the toggle handle. A short handle extension makes it much easier. One can plug a scupper cart back in topside for storage if the area is clear. A centrally located universal cart is the easiest to pull, but they do take a minute or so to install. Marking the exact center of the yak; and 4 pieces of pre attached cam straps are fast and efficient. Two, short length specific ratchet straps is quick also. Tis better to remain silent and thought the fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.
Joser
If you want more flexibility on on wheel location on your yak, you can use the malone wide tracks cart. I use this on my heavier Autopilot 120. These don't get stored on my kayak when I go out though due to how large they are. My outback gets the hobie carts though and they are stored upside down in the rear scupper holes when I go out.
