I try never to use spinning tackle… but for conventional I use baseball bat tape… most sporting goods store have it. Self stick … I put it on the rod just behind the rod seat …. Long distance casting on utube may have the video …. It does last a long time … been casting off the beech with it for a while ,sand ,salt and fresh water rinse and it’s been on the rod for two years ….never came  loose .

I have heard that braid really takes a toll on those casting gloves and they tend to not last long and aren’t the best for maintaining good feeling. You could try modifying a golf or baseball glove. I know you aren’t looking for tapes, but I also use hockey tape and it has served me better than anything else I’ve used so far - and comes in any color you could imagine, and is cheap, and doesn’t get stinky since it’s single use

I personally avoid using a glove of any kind and stick to adhesive solutions. Many here use hockey tape, I personally use Kinesiology tape. You can get a decade supply of tape for about what you'd pay for a pair of gloves that lasts you one season.

i found plenty, asking for peoples recommendations on which they have tried, but seems on here most dont use them, they prefer taping their fingers .

The Gamakatsu has been recommended though, may give that a try

with enough casting your skin will thicken up a little to the point where you won't need protection.

is that why, to protect fingers?  or to keep the sun off your hands?
