vance88
I’ll be staying in the Greenport area for a few days and was wondering how the striper fishing is in mid-late October? I’m from NJ and never been to the area. Was hoping some one could fill me in and maybe give some pointers/suggestions? Not looking for spot burns! Figuring on trying the north shore beaches, but open to driving anywhere. Thanks in advance!
Popasilov
You will be in a good area. Access and parking may be difficult. Bad day fishing is still much better than good day work.
Foureel
Second the parking issue, without a town permit it gets really tough. I have parked in some of the posted lots and have not gotten towed or ticketed but its always in the back of my mind. They just don't want us out of towners in their spots Popasilov
CWitek
I'm not sure what the conditions are at the state park in Orient, a little east of where you're staying, but you should be able to access the water. There will probably be some fish around at that time of year. "I have always believed that outdoor writers who come out against fish and wildlife conservation are in the wrong business. To me, it makes as much sense golf writers coming out against grass.." -- Ted Williams
HarryHood711
Those beaches belong to John Skinner. If he catches you, there's a good chance he will cut your nuts off. Is it worth it? You decide. GarbageFish
back in the day, you could fish right next to the ferry docks and absolutely crush it. parking is an issue in that are of the woods, lots of the "gray parking" was ruined in the recent years. Nite_Bite_00
great spots allover that area. are you going alone? if not get the wife to drop you off and pick back up. plenty of access when you don't need to park a car. Notaknot
spiegs71
Like others said good time of year to be out there and a few places you can fish, but read the signs and they mean it if its a 'no parking' area, even out of season. Check out the google and you'll find a few places you can fish in the area
