Wanted to thank every one in this fourm. Picked this up today. Needs some love but can’t beat the price.

Yup! Spot lock on the trolling moter transom and deck are both solid. Interior could use some work but for 40 years old I would expect that. Other than that moter runs but needs a starter and the bottom paint needs to be redone. From my understanding with the aluminum star-crafts as long as you rinse it after each use the bottom paint isn’t a necessity. I want to paint it anyway but I want to do it the right way so I’m gonna do some more research on that and that’ll be next years project.

Two years with the same hull and before me another chappy Since 1989? Never washed it and there are no signs corrosion. Further, I don't believe he washed and I know I don't wash it.

I would beat the **** out of that boat and use it without worry in the salt.

Make sure that you use the right bottom paint--the paint used on fiberglass boats aren't suitable for aluminum.  They have special paints for that.

But if you are keeping the boat on a trailer, anti-fouling paint is a completely unnecessary expense.  It doesn't gain you anything.
