I don't think it matters where you fish. Some people have a preference in a spot just like they have a preference in women. If you have good bait they will smell it and come and eat it; same as women will come to you if you show them the money. When bottom temps get cold somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 degrees and below, blackfish stop moving around and party boat bites are harder to come by- usually by mid-January it turns into a game of being lucky and taking advantage of your bites when you get them.
