As always, this is the place for your reports... as little or as much detail as you care to share, with hopefully a good bit less focus posted on exact spots, times, and locations. Any and all word from the local waters welcome here, and "no fish" reports are welcome as well; always good to have gotten out there at least, wasn't it?  ;)

Finally....

Went down to O.C.MD for the weekend to paint some pictures. Saturday I was painting 500 yds from where I have the place on a back bay. After painting , I fished for flounder for awhile, caught a nice fat keeper 19". I was surprized to catch it, I figured the big flounder would have moved to more open water by now, some of the larger bays. I was insight of the rt 90 bridge. Just draging a lead head tipped with gulp.

I had an odd experience out back in southern DE on Saturday morning.  Pull up to a spot I rarely see others fishing only to see a guy walking out- he gets in his car & leaves.  As I'm fishing and moving around the area I notice he left fishing gear.  Well as it turned out he left bait in the water and after a while his rod doubles over against the rail and almost gets pulled in.  No one else is around and the line is screaming off his 6' light action ugly stick so I ended up picking it up and bringing in a 24" striped bass.  The dude returns just as I'm about to land it and he tells me he ran out of bloodworms so he went to buy bait & left a live spot in the water thinking nothing would eat it...

FIshed incoming tide yesterday morning from about 630 to 1000 at 3Rs. If you don't count doggies and skates it was my best day this year. 2 blues (about 10" and 12") on mullet rig and a spot on FBBW. Put the spot on a fish finder rig but it didn't do anything. Had a couple more hits on the mullet rig but didn't set the hook.

3R drive over had a couple of BIG holes in it. Apparently somebody bottomed out.

Can't wait for this heat to break!

Yesterday afternoon I hit the point at CHSP for first time fishing there. Other than a 20 min sit in the cab during a 3PM heavy squall it was a nice afternoon. Incoming tide seemed to sweep everything to my left even with 5oz sinker. Had mullet rig on one rod. It brought in one small spiny dog and a few hits. Other rod started with hi/lo rig with #1 hooks and FBBW and then cut mullet. Switched that over to mullet chunks on fish finder. That got one clear nose. Oh..yeah....I did try throwing small spoon and then a deadly dick. All that got me was a sore shoulder this morning.

I was right on the point maybe 75 yds from the fence marker. What's the bottom like? Reeling in it always felt like I would hit a ledge that I had to drag the rig over.

Are there better plans of attack in that area? Any coaching/pointers gratefully accepted.

Fished AI/VA on Sunday.  A few small Kingfish a Pompano (Of all fish for September that one surprised me) and a nice 25 lb Cow Nose ray that had me hoping it was a drum.  Didn't have any luck catching Spot for bait so I fished finger mullet from Captain Steves.  Still trying Eels, got it so they don't ball up on me and they last a long time, not a single shark taking the eels and they usually hit them all day.  Went up to Fenwick (sat in hours of rain) and 3Rs on Monday and Tuesday with no luck.  There were balls of small bait passing by, but nothing was on them.

No matter how many times you say that the ocean surf fishing in DE is almost nonexistent, no one believes you.

It being September, I went up to 3R's on the remote chance that False Albacore might be coming by.  I had my Deadly Dick lure rigged up and ready to go just in case.  Don't laugh, I have a dream :)

I have caught maybe 2 in my life at ai.  So you are right, need to be rigged up because when it happens it's quick and you only get one or two shots.
